About Maidaan Movie (2023)

Maidaan is a sports biographical drama set in the golden era of Indian football (1952–62). It is based on the life of the popular football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who managed the Indian football team for 13 years and laid the foundation of modern Indian football. The role of this football doyen is being played by Ajay Devgn in the movie. The supporting cast includes  Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Rudranil Ghosh. 

Maidaan (transl. Field) is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical sports drama film directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios. Based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–1962), it stars Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim along with Priyamani, Rudranil Ghosh, Abhinay Raj Singh as Australian Player[1] and Gajraj Rao. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 17 February 2023.

 Maidaan is an upcoming biographical sports film set on the era of the golden days (1952-1962) of Indian football. The movie is inspired by the Indian team’s coach and manager, Syed Abdul Rahim, who managed the team for 13 years.

The role is essaying by none other than Ajay Devgan. This period drama is all set to make a theatrical release on 15 October 2021. Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, Rudranil Ghosh and Nitanishi Goel are some incredible supporting cast featuring in the film.

Director Amit Ravindernath Sharma with Rohit Bhujbal completed the movie in the pandemic. The shoot has been rescheduled many times. Akash Chawla has written the story. Saiwyn Quadras worked on the screenplay and, Ritesh Shah delivered the dialogues for the project.

Siddhant Mago and Mayank Mehra technically produced the score but, it would be amazing to hear the composition from Amit Trivedi, who never leaves to disappoint their fans. Produced under the banner of Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta and also Akash Chawla are the producers. We have witnessed multiple sports non-fictional movies to this date.
